The Jhalana Safari Park is about 22 minutes away from the main Jaipur city, and is a haven for wildlife tourism. Here, you will be able to come close to leopards and experience the thrill of seeing them run in the wild. It is a great trip to take from Jaipur.
The safari
A great place to experience the wonders of nature, Jhalana Safari Park’s main attraction is, of course, wildlife safari to spot the leopards. With 21 sq km of land, the beautiful forest of Jhalana hosts the dangerous leopards in its lap, and is just the perfect place to spot them. It is supposedly easier to spot leopards because they can adapt well near human settlements. The complete safari would take only about 2.5 hours of your time, during which you will be enriched with loads of knowledge regarding wildlife, not to mention, the pictures!
Apart from leopards, the Jhalana Safari Park is also known for other wild animals, such as hyenas, desert fox, golden jackal, chital, Indian palm civet, spotted deer, and more. Jhalana Safari Park is also home to numerous exotic birds, so it is definitely a birdwatcher’s paradise.
Interested travellers must pre-book if you want experts to guide you through the safari. Also, the park is best experienced from September to February, as this is when the weather is cool.
