1. Bheemeshwari
Bheemeshwari – located on the banks of this very river is undoubtedly one of the most ideal getaways from Bangalore that will astound you, especially for river rafting. If you are looking to throw open your pulsating adrenaline spirit in the nourishing lap of nature, then look no further. This is the place you ought to be! While you make your way manoeuvre the gushing waters, you get to pass through a picturesque forest or tiny hamlets.”
2. Coorg
“Coorg had that simple charm of a small hill station, and ticks most checkboxes of expectations. It has a decent water body in Nisargadam, good exposure to elephants, a good old fort in Madikeri, an awesome ride to Talacauvery, the origin of Cauvery. More than the falls, the walk to Abbey falls is exhilarating.”
3. Alleppey
“This is the best place for romantic couples! Right from the beginning till the end, they took care of everything. It’s a heavenly ride especially in the morning and evening during the sunset. I highly recommend everyone to experience once!”
4. Ooty
“Most cool place in the south, Botanical garden, rose garden, wax house, boating. Try carrots which are red and sweet. Ooty chocolates are also good and homemade. To enjoy the place you should walk and see. There are some flowers which you will not find at anywhere else and make sure you get into the Toy Train which is a heritage of India now. There are only 3 trains in the whole of India and among those, one is in Ooty.”
5. Munnar
“Munnar for me is synonymous with colour blue (skies), green (plantation) and white (clouds) – Dreamy, right!! Moonu Aar – literally means three rivers as it lies at the confluence of river Muthirapuzha, Nallathanni and Kundala. There are some places that leave an indelible mark in your heart, Munnar is one such place for me.”
6. Yeracud
“Yercaud is a small but scenic location for weekend fun. We went there over a long weekend and had a lot of fun. Yercaud Lake is big and beautiful, a ride in a motor boat costs about INR 140. There are rowing boats and pedal boats available which are cheaper. We also went to poppy children’s park to add some fun for the kids.”
7. Chikmagalur
“Chikmagalur is different from the usual hill stations which boast of a fleet of spots in a short radius. Each of the attractions is at least 10 to 60 km away from the city centre. The attraction of this place is the drive to each of the destinations and the trekking options. The people are decent folks, unaffected by the attention that a popular tourist spot gets.”
8. Goa
“As per me, in Goa the following are must-visits. Beaches: Baga, Morjim, Calangute, Anjuna. Falls: Dudhsagar. Organic Farms: Sahakari Spice Farm. Clubs and Casinos: Brittos/ Titos/ Club Cabana and Deltin Royale (Casino). Churches: Basilica of Bom Jesus, Se Cathedral, Mae De Deus Church, etc. Forts: Aguada, Tiracol Fort. Boat ride: Island trip (no need to go to the Dolphin point separately). Goan spices are world famous. The food here is spicy as well as full of flavours.”
9. Kodaikanal
“Kodaikanal is a perfect hill station for everyone. Kodai lake is very famous, there you can do boating and even cycling around the lake. Take a walk at Coakers Walk to enjoy the Kodai view if the sky is clear.”
10. Andaman and Nicobar
“Andaman and Nicobar islands are a must-visit in the tourism circuit of South India. The must-visit attractions around Andaman include the Neil Island and the iconic Cellular Jail. The Neil Island is known for the pristine beauty of the coral reefs, what with the Neil Islands being the coral capital of the Andaman. The Cellular Jail is also known as Kaala Paani. The Jail is a reminder of the Indian freedom struggle.”
