Suraj Kund

Suraj Kund is surrounded by many ancient temples, including the famous Baba Manohar Nath Temple built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan.

St. John's Church

St. John's Church was founded in 1819 by Chaplin Reverend Henry Fisher, for the East India Company in the cantonment area. The construction of the church was completed in 1822. It is regarded as one of the oldest churches in North India. The church was dedicated to the local people by Bishop Wilson. It has a seating capacity of around 10,000 people. The church witnessed the struggle between the Indian soldiers and the British forces during the Revolt of 1857.

Sardhana Church

Sardhana Church, also known as the Basilica of Our Lady of Graces, is situated in Sardhana near Meerut. It is a Roman Catholic church that represents different architectural styles. The church was designed in 1822 by the Italian architect Anthony Reghelini. It has a verandah lined with 18 Doric pillars. There are two lakes near the church which were believed to have formed due to the removal of the mud.

Shri Shantinath Digamber Jain Temple

Shri Shantinath Digamber Jain Temple at Mohalla Teergaran is considered to be the oldest Jain temple in Meerut. There is a statue of Jain Tirthankara Shantinath in the temple. The Indian Government preserves the temple for its ancient art work, including the different Jain Digamber statues

Jama Masjid

The Jama Masjid in Meerut was constructed by Hassan Mahdi, the Wazir of Sultan Mahmud Ghaznavi, in 1019. It is considered to be the first mosque in North India which was restored by the Mughal Emperor Humayun. Nearby, there is a Maqbara of Ghazi Sayyad Salar Masud, the 11th century Islamic saint and soldier. This was built by Qutubuddin Aibak, the first ruler of the Delhi Sultanate.

Bale Miyan Ki Dargah

Bale Miyan ki Dargah, situated near the Chandi Devi Mandir, was constructed in 1194 by Qutubuddin Aibak, the first ruler of the Delhi Sultanate. The dargah is famous for the Urs festival, celebrated annually during the Nauchandi Mela.

Shahpeer Sahab Ki Dargah

Shahpeer Sahab ki Dargah was constructed by the Mughal Empress Nur Jahan for honouring a local Muslim, Hazrat Shahpeer. The Shahpeer Gate at this site was built in 1829 by a local jagirdar, Rajaji. The dargah has no roof and has various stone paintings. It is believed that the dargah was built 24 hours before the death of Shahpeer. The tomb is listed as a National Heritage Monument by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI).
