Located at 2800 metres above sea level, Kufri Fun World is one of the highest amusement parks in the world. It has the highest go kart track in the world. Situated amidst the snow-capped Himalayan peaks, it is one of the most beautifully situated amusement parks in the world.
Mahasu Peak, the highest peak in Kufri, is accessible only by horse/mule. The muddy road is best traversed on horseback, which makes for an interesting experience.

Kufri, the winter sports capital of Shimla, leaves each and every visitor splendid with its beautiful white cover of snow. It is a skier's paradise. The best time to roll into the snow of Kufri is from mid- December to early February. During this period of the year, Kufri has perfect snow carpet to offer for skiing. The place is famed for its deep valleys and thrilling slopes, best suited for skiing. 16 km from Shimla, the place which was known as a small pond, according to its name, today has been developed into a beautiful and adventurous tourist destination. Tourists swarm to the place for getting a fun filled skiing experience.
The Himalayan National Park offers a steal for the wildlife enthusiast and trekking junkie in your. The Park has about 180 species of birds and extremely rare mammals to offer. The trek, organized by Sai Ropa Tourist Centre, with rangers, requires you to have a travel insurance that covers an emergency helicopter evacuation. The trek lasts for five to eight days, and is the best way to experience the diversity offered by the Park. It is advised, but not necessary. If you're visiting in winter months, the Fagri festival is a delight to witness, but you won't find many temples open. The Temples are usually open around summers and fall only.
This journey to the highest peak in Kufri can only be covered on horse/mule back, considering the path is very muddy and almost impossible to tread on foot. The horses/mules can be hired for Rs. 650 for Mahasu and Rs. 380 to Deshu Peak. The Nag Temple on top of the peak is a sight to behold, as is the panoramic view from the top. Worth the visit.

Shopping in Kufri can be a real pain because there is not much to shop at, except the local kiosks. At any point, do not buy saffron sold by local venders, it can most likely be fake or highly adulterated. Buy saffron, if you want to, only from authorized vendors. Apart from this shopping in Shimla is a great option. The Mall Road in Shimla offers absolutely amazing handicrafts, like the Tibetan carpets and Pashmina shawls. For intricately carved wooden products, head to Lakkar Bazaar and do weigh in the options available as the prices tend to vary. Juices, pickles, squashes and jams are a must buy!
