Gugamal National Park is spread over a large area of around 361.28 sq. km. Established in the year 1987; this national park is an integral part of the Melghat Tiger Reserve. The ideal time to visit this national park is between March and June. It is famous for animal species, such as tiger, sloth bear, python, cheetah, wild beer, four horned antelope, fishing cat, panther and leopard, among many others.
While visiting this park, tourists can see over 90 tree species, 750 plant species, 56 climber species, 23 sedge species and over 316 herb species. The important tree species present in the region are Ain, Aola, Lendia, Tectona grandis, Kusum, Dhawada and so on. Furthermore, there are many medicinal plants and shrubs present in this national park.
